External finishing begins at Jumeirah Village project to meet summer delivery deadline

Luxury lifestyle real estate provider DAMAC Properties Dubai has announced that external cladding and painting have now commenced at its Emirates Garden development in Jumeirah Village.

This represents the start of the finishing touches to the external building whose construction was completed in January. The low rise Mediterranean style complex is made up of three separate buildings each of four storeys. Emirates Garden (Phase One) is DAMAC Properties’ first project in Jumeirah Village South and is expected to be handed over to customers this summer.

Block work and painting form an important aspect of the overall external works as the building is being finished in a range of golden and orange hues with pale brickwork to highlight the Mediterranean feel of the development. External stone cladding is being undertaken by Al Rawda, with external painting being carried out by Season and Berger – the main contractor for Emirates Garden is Intermass.

Nearby the second phase of the Emirates Garden development is progressing well and near completion for its structural work, and following on from this will be Tuscan Residences – DAMAC Properties’ third development at Jumeirah Village, which is due to complete by next year.

Chairman of DAMAC Properties Hussain Sajwani said that commencing the final stages of external work at Emirates Garden was a great boost for all on site.

“All of the contractors on site have been working hard to ensure that we meet our summer deadline on Emirates Garden and now people who are travelling past the site can see for themselves the progress we are making,’ he said.

‘The colourful walls are now visible to people driving along the Emirates Road and will hopefully demonstrate to people that it is very much business as usual on site for DAMAC Properties.’

Emirates Garden will eventually offer studio, one and two bedroom apartments amongst a waterside setting with walkways and cycle trails through the surrounding gardens for residents to enjoy. Apartments have been themed in either traditional Arabic or Mediterranean styles and the buildings will also encompass a range of retail units, cafes and restaurants on the ground floor.

The ideal central location of Jumeirah Village with close links to Media and Internet City and also Jebel Ali Free Zone means it will appeal to a wide range of customers. Facilities for residents at Jumeirah village are also well provided with two locally based international schools, medical facilities, veterinary clinics and country clubs nearby.

Mr Sajwani commented: ‘‘It has not been easy to keep our focus and to remain so positive in these turbulent times but we believe that progress of the type we are making at Emirates Garden is the only way forward in reflecting our commitment to our customers.

‘We have stated our intention to hand over more than 7,100 units to customers in the next two years and Phase One of Emirates Gardens will contribute more than 500 of these. We currently have more than 18,000 units under construction and we will continue to stay focused on the job we have to do.

‘We are pleased that we are now in the final stages of the external work at Emirates Garden and look forward to seeing this first milestone project at Jumeirah Village reach completion this summer.’
