Hussain Sajwani, Chairman and Founder of DAMAC receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 30 November 2023: Hussain Sajwani, Chairman and Founder of DAMAC Group has been conferred the esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award at the 11th Gulf Business Awards.
The distinguished awards recognise companies and titans of industry across diverse sectors, such as real estate, energy, tourism and hospitality, aviation and transport, finance, healthcare and retail. This year, Chairman and Founder of DAMAC Group, Sajwani was lauded for his trailblazing work across industries and borders, from the UAE and Middle East to Europe, North America, Asia as well as North Africa.
Joining a cohort of previous winners including HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and HE Sheikh Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi among other pre-eminent figures, Hussain Sajwani has led DAMAC Group from the front since he founded it. Established in 1982, with its catering and logistics arm, DAMAC Group has grown exponentially with businesses expanding across multiple industries and geographies.
Today, DAMAC boasts an impressive and diverse portfolio including property development and real estate, data centres, retail and fashion, hospitality, capital markets and logistics. Beyond the boardroom and alongside his family, Hussain Sajwani advocates for access to quality education under the Hussain Sajwani – DAMAC Foundation, including the popular One Million Arab Coders an initiative that aims to empower one million Arabs with the language of the future, computer coding.

The award ceremony took place at Palazzo Versace Dubai and was attended by over 250 corporate leaders, C-suite executives, luminaries, and trailblazers. Speaking at the event, Ian Fairservice, Managing Director and Group Editor-in-Chief of Motivate Media praised the regional business community on their success and the role they have played in driving incredible growth.
